Against the backdrop of accelerating global energy transition and deepening carbon neutrality goals, renewable energy has become the absolute mainstay of global energy growth. According to the Renewable Capacity Statistics 2026 report released by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), global renewable energy capacity reached 5,149 GW in 2025, with a record annual increase of 692 GW, representing a growth rate of 15.5%. As the core engine of global renewable energy development, China had 2,455 GW of renewable energy installed capacity by the first half of 2026, accounting for 60.7% of the nation's total power capacity. Among these, wind and solar power together accounted for approximately 1,950 GW, with solar power capacity nearly matching that of coal‑fired power. Renewable energy is rapidly transitioning from a "supplementary energy" to a "primary energy" source.
In this historic process, electrical technology plays an irreplaceable and critical role. From high‑penetration renewable energy integration and grid dispatch, flexible grid interconnection and secure operation, to the large‑scale deployment of emerging technologies such as grid‑forming energy storage, virtual power plants, and smart microgrids, electrical technology is fundamentally reshaping the configuration and operational logic of power systems. At the same time, cutting‑edge directions including the deep integration of artificial intelligence with power systems, PV‑storage‑charging integration, and electricity‑hydrogen coupling are opening new technological pathways for the efficient utilization of renewable energy and resilient grid operation.
To further advance this development trend, the 6th International Conference on Renewable Energy and Electrical Technology (ICREET 2027) will be held from August 27 to 29, 2027. The conference will focus on cutting‑edge topics including renewable energy generation technologies, power systems and grid integration, energy storage and conversion technologies, smart energy systems and digitalization, electrical materials, devices and emerging technologies, as well as energy sustainability and interdisciplinary fields. It will provide a high‑level platform for global experts, scholars, researchers, and industry professionals to present research achievements, exchange advanced technologies, and explore industrial collaboration. We cordially invite you to participate in ICREET 2027 and join us in driving the innovative development of renewable energy and electrical technology, contributing to the global green and low‑carbon transition.
